Samut Sakhon Tops December 2025 New Factory Openings, Driving Full-Year Total to 1,220 Plants

The Department of Industrial Works under the Ministry of Industry reported that in 2025, a total of 1,220 industrial factories were granted operating licenses or formally notified nationwide.

Total investment value reached THB 161.88 billion, generating employment for 39,046 workers, reflecting continued expansion in Thailand’s manufacturing sector.

In December 2025, Samut Sakhon recorded the highest number of newly licensed factories, with 19 facilities approved, accounting for THB 1.46 billion in investment.

Top 3 Provinces by Number of New Factory Licenses (December 2025)

  • Samut Sakhon​ – 19 factories, THB  1.46 billion in total investment, 870 jobs created, and 13,611.26 horsepower in machinery capacity.

  • Chonburi – 6 factories, THB 5.10 billion in total investment, 560 jobs created, and 24,328.02 horsepower in machinery capacity.

  • Chiang Mai​ – 4 factories, THB 148.50 million in total investment, 34 jobs created, and 1,539.53 horsepower in machinery capacity.

When comparing by investment value, the top three provinces in November were:

  • Chonburi – THB 5.10 billion

 

  • Suphan Buri – THB 2.53 billion 
  • Samut Sakhon – THB 1.46 billion
