Thailand Approves 59 New Factories in January 2026, Chonburi Leads in Licenses
Thailand approved 59 new industrial factory licenses nationwide in January 2026, with total investment reaching 16.05 billion baht (about $450 million), according to data released by the Department of Industrial Works (DIW) under the Ministry of Industry.
Among all provinces, Chonburi recorded the highest number of newly licensed factories, with 21 projects approved during the month, representing investment of 2.24 billion baht.
The province, located in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), continues to attract manufacturing investment due to its well-developed industrial infrastructure and proximity to major ports and logistics networks.

- Investment: 5.77 billion baht
- Employment: 51 workers
- Machinery capacity: 387,580.67 horsepower
Saraburi
- 4 factories
- Investment: 494.58 million baht
- Employment: 71 workers
- Machinery capacity: 36,524.70 horsepower

When ranked by total investment value, the leading provinces were:
- Suphan Buri – 5.77 billion baht
- Chonburi – 2.24 billion baht
- Pattani – 1.87 billion baht
