Samsung and LG Display to stop supplying panels to Huawei
Reuters reports from South Korean online media Chosun Biz that Samsung and LG Display to stop supplying panels to Huawei when U.S. restrictions take effect on Sept. 15.
The export control rules which were introduced last month require companies using American Technology to obtain a special license before supply to Huawei.
No comment from Samsung which counts Apple as a major customer yet, while LG said it’ll have a minimal impact because of its limited panel shipment.
Meanwhile, The Elec reported that Huawei planned to lower smartphone production in 2021. But no confirmation from Huawei.
TSMC reported to stop supplying chipset from Sept, 15 onward.
