Rayong: Champion for the largest number of new factories in December 2021

Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry reported that 195 new factories nationwide were licensed in December 2021. The employment increased with more 5,404 people hired whereas the total capital was 11,696.12 million baht, increasing from 10,295.36 baht of the previous month. Rayong was the province where 13 new factories opened, the largest number with the total capital of 584.09 million baht. 

For the total year 2021, there were 2,615 new factories were licensed with the total capital of 239,970.58 million baht and the employment of 81,616 people.

In December 2021, the top three provinces where new licensed factories are located are as follows: 

1) Rayong - There were 13 new licensed factories with the total capital of 584.09 million baht. The employment increased with 559 more hires. The total machine power was 10,526.45 hp.

2) Chonburi and Samut Sakhon - Both provinces had the same 12 new licenses factories. Chonburi, the total capital was 1,315.02 million baht. The employment increased with 312 more hires. The total machine power was 8,520.02 hp. While Samut Sakhon, the total capital was 691.28 million baht. The employment increased with 206 more hires. The total machine power was 9,717.55 hp.

3) Chachoengsao, Phatthalung and Ratchaburi - These three provinces had the same 8 new licenses factories. Chachoengsao, the total capital was 399.84 million baht. The employment increased with 481 more hires. The total machine power was 5,207.45 hp. While Phatthalung, the total capital was 71.60 million baht. The employment increased with 63 more hires. The total machine power was 5,795.01 hp. For Ratchaburi, the total capital was 153.30 million baht. The employment increased with 128 more hires. The total machine power was 7,958.58 hp.

However, when comparing only with the factory capital in the province, the champion was Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya with the total capital of 1,704.83 million baht. The followings were Tak at 1,402 million baht, Chonburi at 1,315.02 million baht, Sisaket at 807.20 million baht and Samut Sakhon at 691.28 million baht.
