Chonburi - Chachoengsao: Champions for the largest number of new factories in January 2022

Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry reported that 162 new factories nationwide were licensed in January 2022. The employment increased with more 3,372 people hired whereas the total capital was 7,191.73 million baht, decreasing from 11,696.12 baht of the previous month.

Chonburi and Chachoengsao both provinces had the same 13 new factories opened, the largest number with the total capital of 1,892 million baht.

In January 2022, the top three provinces where newly licensed factories are located are as follows: 

1) Chonburi and Chachoengsao - Both provinces had the same 13 new licenses factories. Chonburi, the total capital was 1,562.43 million baht. The employment increased with 387 more hires. The total machine power was 5,690.27 hp. While Chachoengsao, the total capital was 330.42 million baht. The employment increased with 324 more hires. The total machine power was 3,663.20 hp.

2) Samut Prakan - There were 12 new licensed factories with the total capital of 495.54 million baht. The employment increased with 305 more hires. The total machine power was 3,064.45 hp.

3) Samut Sakhon - There were 11 new licensed factories with the total capital of 366.21 million baht. The employment increased with 204 more hires. The total machine power was 3,711.78 hp.

However, when comparing only with the factory capital in the province, the champion was Chonburi with the total capital of 1,562.43 million baht. The followings were Krungthep Mahanakorn at 899.38 million baht, Samut Prakan at 495.54 million baht, Samut Sakhon at 366.21 million baht and Pathum Thani at 360.84 million baht.
