Samut Sakhon: Champions for the largest number of new factories in October 2023

Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry reported that 203 new factories nationwide were licensed in October 2023. The employment increased with more 7,623 people hired whereas the total capital was 81,267 million baht, increasing from 15,822.34 baht of the previous month.

Samut Sakhon province where 34 new factories opened, the largest number with the total capital of 1,194.55 million baht. 

In October 2023, the top three provinces where newly licensed factories are located are as follows: 

1) Samut Sakhon - There were 34 new licensed factories with the total capital of 1,194.55 million baht. The employment increased with 894 more hires. The total machine power was 13,506.66 hp.

2) Samut Prakan - There were 24 new licensed factories with the total capital of 1,285.43 million baht. The employment increased with 969 more hires. The total machine power was 15,231.23 hp.

3) Chonburi - There were 22 new licensed factories with the total capital of 2,096.75 million baht. The employment increased with 1,412 more hires. The total machine power was 7,210.67 hp.

However, when comparing only with the factory capital in the province, the champion was Saraburi with the total capital of 69,354.95 million baht. The followings were Rayong at 2,180.36 million baht, Pranakorn Sri Ayutthaya at 2,143.14 million baht, Chonburi at 2,096.75 million baht and Samut Prakan at 1,285.43 million baht.
